The mighty G45 will feature full hardware decoding and MPEG2 acceleration, along with VC1 and AVC decoding, while the lower-end version of the same chipset won't.
Intel plans to simultaneously launch G43 and G45 chipsets, but the low-end version won’t accelerate HD DVD or Blu-Ray content.
The biggest limitation of the G43 is its dual channel memory support with only one dim per channel, while the G45 will have dual channel memory and two dim modules per slot. Still, this will let motherboard manufacturers make a cheaper motherboard with only two memory slots.
Both G45 and G43 have integrated HDMI, DVI and Display port, and this will certainly make them an attractive option for many consumers.

Intel To Launch G43
Need For Speed Goes Back To Its Old Days
According to Fudzilla we can expect the next sequel of Need For Speed to be full of excitement for which the series is known i.e action packed racing with police chasing and also tunning the cars to get the maximum performance.
EA Sports officials realized that after their last sequel NFS: Pro Street failed to sell in huge numbers – something they haven’t experienced before. Frank Gibeau, head of EA Sports claims that the reason for that is that these series have, through the years, gone through changes and stepped away from the original concept. Most of all, NFS meant racing and police chasing as well as car tuning that brought pimping your ride to the game.
Frank Gibeau promises that NFS 12 will go back to its roots, which means we can look forward to seeing the good old NFS in its full glory. That in turn means that the 12th sequel is already in development, although Gibeau refused to share more details including the release date.

New Intel Dual Core E7200
Don’t get too excited as this Wolfdale 45nm based dual core is scheduled for the second half of 2008 and it looks it will sit in-between E4700 and E4600.
The new CPU works at 2.53GHz and it has 3MB of cache memory which is it its strongest point. The new Dual core E7200 is Wolfdale, 45nm based, but it will end up 70MHz slower than E4700 that currently works at 2.6GHz. Naturally, the E7200 has two cores.
The new E7200 works at 2.53GHz but it has 1066MHz FSB that might even make it faster than E4700 that works with FSB 800. It should be available in second half of 2008.

Intel X48 Chipset Launch Slipped Down To March
Suffering a similar fate as the 45nm quad-core processors, the X48 chipset has slipped from an early Q1 release all the way to March, the last month of the first quarter. Although both the chip and the CPUs have been slated for Q1 and no concrete release has been announced they were supposed to arrive, although in small numbers, as soon as the end of January, a target that has been obviously missed.
Whatever the reason, though we suspect the delay of the 3.2 GHz QX9770 to have something to do with this, the 1600 MHz FSB-supporting X48 and motherboards equipped with it will be arriving in March, likely in time to counter Nvidia's nForce 790i products. The bright side is that we get more time to save money for either one.

EA FaceBreaker - The New Boxing Game
EA announced a new boxing game called FaceBreaker. This game will be released later this year for the PS3, Xbox 360 and Wii consoles.
“We’re very excited to announce FaceBreaker, an all-new franchise from EA SPORTS that is fun, fresh and innovative,” said Peter Moore, president, EA SPORTS. “FaceBreaker reinvigorates one of the great genres in sports videogames. Arcade boxing takes me back to my roots in this industry, and this game signals our shift to adding more approachable fun to our product lineup. In no time at all, you’ll be picking up the controllers and knocking your opponent around the ring, smashing faces, and having a riot.”
The renaissance of the arcade boxing genre is upon us. Created by the same team that developed the award-winning Fight Night Round 3, FaceBreaker offers irreverent fun, immersive gameplay and eye-popping stylized graphics. In this in-your-face, arcade world full of ego-wielding characters, each boxer comes to life with unique attributes and distinct personal style, including Romeo, a Latin lover known for his pelvic thrusts, and Molotov, an oversized Russian demolitions expert with a penchant for fighting dirty. Add a little personal motivation to your fight by uploading a photo of your face to create a realistic likeness using Photo Game Face, and go toe-to-toe with a real-life friend or foe.

Microsoft Confirms DirectX 10.1 in Service pack 1
Microsoft now officially talks that DirectX 10.1 is the integrated part of DirectX 10.1.
The new API will enable new hardware features and according to Microsoft Service pack 1 “Adds support for Direct3D® 10.1, an update to Direct3D 10 that extends the API to support new hardware features, enabling 3D application and game developers to make more complete and efficient use of the upcoming generations of graphics hardware.” I am sure that Nvidia doesn’t likes the sound of it as it doesn’t have a support for DirectX 10.1.
The second release candidate dated 13th of January is already out and he adds a DirectX 10.1 support but currently, there are no much applications that can get the benefits of DirectX 10.1. We are sure that ATI’s demo team works hard to make some.
Service pack 1 for Vista is still scheduled for Q1 so we should see it hopefully before the last days of March as it should speed up a few things, while fixing some known bugs.

Halo Wars For PC
Fudzilla published that there may be something for the PC gamer to cheer for,as Halo Wars can go PC.
The Angry Pixel claims that there’s a real possibility that Halo Wars will, besides XboX version, find its way to your PC. The Angry Pixel cites their anonymous source from Microsoft.
If these rumors have any truth, then XboX gamers will get a chance to test their skills versus PC gamers, through XboX Live service. This system is called Cross-Platform Gaming, and Halo Wars wouldn’t be the first game to support it. A game called Universe At War will indicate whether this system functions in strategy games.
Official confirmation is nowhere to be seen, but that might change as we’re getting closer to Game Developers Conference in San Francisco on the 18th-22nd of February.
