NVIDIA Launches Much Cooler GeForce 8800 GT
NVIDIA today launches its newest midrange graphics card part, the GeForce 8800 GT, previously known by its codename G92. NVIDIA guidance states that its newest graphics card will be sold at a retail price in the $199 and $249 price range.
Top-to-bottom, the GeForce 8800 GT fits snugly between NVIDIA's GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB, which NVIDIA sets at a retail price of $349, and NVIDIA's GeForce 8600 GTS, which is sold for $149.
The GeForce 8800 GT sports a 100 MHz speed bump over the 8800 GTS, and comes factory clocked at 600 MHz. The 600 MHz clock speed of the 8800 GT is actually 15 MHz higher than the 8800 GTX's default GPU clock, which is set at 575 MHz. The 8800 GT's clock speed also comes within striking distance of the GeForce 8800 Ultra's 612 MHz GPU clock speed.
The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT features 112 stream processors, 6 less than the 128 stream processors found on the ultra high-end 8800 GTX and 16 more than the 96 stream processors found on NVIDIA's 8800 GTS.

Assassin's Creed Reminds POP
Many of us would just say its the Prince of Persia.Believe me I also thought the same(I don't know what you would be guessing) but it is not the Prince. It is a upcoming action packed release entitled Assassin's Creed from the same maker "Ubisoft" which is ready to hit the gamer world on 13th November.
Truly speaking when I saw the trailer for the first time (posted below) I was amazed to see that the fighting techniques and many other modes are same as it was in the POP series. So I must say have a look on the trailer and post your valuable comments on what you think.

Wolfdale 45nm 3.16GHz Is C2D E8500
While E6850, the 3.0GHz Conroe, is dropping to €235 as Intel prepares for 45 nm refreshed dual core parts, the Wolfdale dual core 45 nanometer 3.16 GHz CPU will be branded as Core 2 Duo E8500, and this will be the fastest dual core at launch.
It works with FSB 1333 and it will cost US$270 at launch. Currently, Core 2 Duo E6850 at 3GHz currently costs $270 in the US, so obviously Intel will try to get rid of these parts before the new dual core king E8500 joins the game.
The 3GHz E8400 45 nanometer part will drop to US$190, and this will happen in January when Intel expects to launch these parts. Conroes days are certainly numbered.

New IBM Video Transfer Technology 100x Faster Than WiFi
IBM will do this by teaming with MediaTek to launch a joint initiative to develop these ultra fast chipsets that will let users rid their homes and offices of the cumbersome wires needed to connect their HD-TVs to set top boxes and or other devices.
The companies will be developing millimeter wave (mmWave) radio technology -- the highest frequency portion of the radio spectrum -- 60 gigahertz rather than 2.4 gigahertz -- and digital chipsets that enable at least 100 times higher data rates than current Wi-Fi standards, IBM said in a release. For example, users could upload a 10 gigabyte file in five seconds with the new technology versus 10 minutes using current Wi-Fi technology. mmWave wireless technology can be widely used at home and office for applications such as multimedia content downloads or uncompressed HDTV streaming from your DVD player. Users could wirelessly download and synchronize iPod-like devices with music and videos in seconds.
The companies will integrate IBM's new mmWave radio chips, antenna, and package technology with MediaTek's digital baseband and video processing chips.

Kingston Working On SSD Drive - Available In 2008
One of the most well known names that comes to mind when you speak about SSD drives is SanDisk but several other manufacturers are also working on solid state drives. FUD Zilla reports Kingston unveiled last week at a press event in Taiwan that they will launch their first SSD drives in the first quarter of 2008.
The company believes that that is when the pricing structure of the components will be right for it to enter this market.
The first product from Kingston will be a 32GB 1.8 or 2.5in drive and the plan is to ramp up production and capacity over the next few years.
Kingston admitted that SSD will always have a price premium over traditional mechanical hard drives, although they though that when the SSD drives hits a two to three times price premium over traditional drives, consumers will consider them as a viable alternative.
Kingston believes future notebooks will get two storage slots: one for SSD drives to store the operating system and frequently used software and a second slot for a traditional HDD for data storage.

AMD Phenom FX To Scale Up To 2.8GHz This Year
Rumour has it that the highest frequency Phenom FX processor from AMD will run at 2.8GHz.
The 2.6GHz and slower parts will launch as socket AM2+ only. These CPUs will be sampled and available in 2007, but probably no earlier than late November.
The 3GHz part will skip to 2008 but the sweet spot for both Intel and AMD is the 2.4GHz part, and this is where the money and volume sales come from. This will probably ignite a new price war.
Obviously, in addition to 2.8GHz FX and 2.6GHz parts, the Phenom X4 also launches at 2.2 and 2.4GHz.

iPhone Installer App Updated to 3.0 beta3 With Many Improvements
The iPhone's Installer.app has been updated to 3.0, and features a much better organizational system than the previous "everything listed in a flat list that takes forever to scroll through". Not only are there sections now, you can "Update All", and the packaging backend is improved as well. You can't install this directly on your phone, but instead you have to install the older version, then update via installer itself. If you have 1.1.1, you'll have to jailbreak first, then transfer it on manually. However, it does detect what firmware version you're running and only displays the apps that run fine on yours.

Microsoft Releases New Build of IE7, Pirates Welcome
In n surprise move, Microsoft has issued a new build of Internet Explorer 7 (IE7) to customers that can be installed on any machine running Windows XP or Windows Server 2003 -- IE7 is already included in Windows Vista operating systems.
IE7 was previously reserved for customers using genuine copies of Windows-based operating systems and was protected by Microsoft's Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) validation software.
"Because Microsoft takes its commitment to help protect the entire Windows ecosystem seriously, we’re updating the IE7 installation experience to make it available as broadly as possible to all Windows users," remarked IE7 program manager Steve Reynolds on the IE Blog. "With today’s 'Installation and Availability Update,' Internet Explorer 7 installation will no longer require Windows Genuine Advantage validation and will be available to all Windows XP users."
Microsoft is likely using this move to makes IE7 available to the broadest range of customers worldwide. Mozilla's Firefox browser has gained a lot of traction recently, and this move would give Microsoft some additional ammunition.
In addition to the removal of WGA, the latest version of IE7 brings updates to the menu bar, online tour and a new MSI installer for IT administrators.

Wi-Fi Detector Shirt
The Wi-Fi Detector shirt does everything you'd dream it could do: detect Wi-Fi signals and share them, via your chest, with the entire world. Spotting both 802.11b and 802.11g networks, signal strength is displayed in real time (big animated gif post-jump). After you are done broadcasting your (super ability?) to the world, just slip the AAA batteries out of the built-in pouch and unhook the decal, and you can wash the sweat away of a hard day's work of bandwidth theft.
The Wi-Fi Detector shirt is a Think Geek exclusive and will be available this October for $29.99. We'd like to see support from the mod community on this one. Just imagine the potential hacks if there was some tailor collaboration. Yeah, that's right. We're talking no sleeves. We're talking avatar iron-ons. And we're not even thinking about the potential of puff paints at the moment.
