YouTube India features a localized homepage and search functions, allowing them to create and share videos, discover the most popular and relevant videos in India, and connect with other Indian and global users. Eventually, YouTube India will have entirely "local" experience highlighting and featuring the content and functionality most desired by Indian users.
YouTube India features promoted videos, featured videos, and homepage promotions, localised user interface and help center, user support and community features (such as video ratings, sharing and content flagging), making it easier for the Indian YouTube community to search and view videos from India. Also, content uploaded by users in India will show up as "top favourites" and "recommended content" on the local YouTube site. The localized site also aims to facilitate connections among the large Indian NRI community.

Microsoft Withdraws Yahoo Bid
Microsoft atlast withdrawn its proposal to acquire Yahoo. Ballmer says he's disappointed and claims it won't be sensible to attempt a hostile takeover as that would make Yahoo undesirable as an acquisition for Microsoft.
“We continue to believe that our proposed acquisition made sense for Microsoft, Yahoo! and the market as a whole. Our goal in pursuing a combination with Yahoo! was to provide greater choice and innovation in the marketplace and create real value for our respective stockholders and employees,” said Steve Ballmer, chief executive officer of Microsoft.
“Despite our best efforts, including raising our bid by roughly $5 billion, Yahoo! has not moved toward accepting our offer. After careful consideration, we believe the economics demanded by Yahoo! do not make sense for us, and it is in the best interests of Microsoft stockholders, employees and other stakeholders to withdraw our proposal,” said Ballmer.
“We have a talented team in place and a compelling plan to grow our business through innovative new services and strategic transactions with other business partners. While Yahoo! would have accelerated our strategy, I am confident that we can continue to move forward toward our goals,” Ballmer said.
“We are investing heavily in new tools and Web experiences, we have dramatically improved our search performance and advertiser satisfaction, and we will continue to build our scale through organic growth and partnerships,” said Kevin Johnson, Microsoft president for platforms and services.

DVD Downloads On Apple iTunes
Apple Inc. has announced that it will begin selling movie downloads on the same day that film titles are released on DVD through its iTunes service. Apple has reached agreements with Warner Brothers, Walt Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, Sony Pictures Entertainment, Lionsgte, Image Entertainment and First Look Studios.
The announcement is a new growth area for Apple, creating interest in Apple’s iPod digital media player as well as Apple’s new Apple TV. It also poses competition for video outlets like Netflix, Blockbuster and Amazon. Film studios previously released new DVDs 30 to 45 days ahead of other distribution outlets to help preserve a major income source. With same-day accessibility Apple has an edge over the video outlets.
Movie titles available this week include "Juno," "American Gangster" and "I Am Legend." New titles will sell for US$14.99 each, with catalog titles available for US$9.99 each.

Intel To Launch G43
The mighty G45 will feature full hardware decoding and MPEG2 acceleration, along with VC1 and AVC decoding, while the lower-end version of the same chipset won't.
Intel plans to simultaneously launch G43 and G45 chipsets, but the low-end version won’t accelerate HD DVD or Blu-Ray content.
The biggest limitation of the G43 is its dual channel memory support with only one dim per channel, while the G45 will have dual channel memory and two dim modules per slot. Still, this will let motherboard manufacturers make a cheaper motherboard with only two memory slots.
Both G45 and G43 have integrated HDMI, DVI and Display port, and this will certainly make them an attractive option for many consumers.
