Geforce 8800 GS Spotted With Specifications

Expreview has spotted GeForce 8800 GS graphics cards. The site says NVIDIA will soon introduce 384MB and 768MB GDDR3 GeForce 8800 GS graphics cards, these cards are based on the G92-150 core and feature 112 stream processors and a 192-bit memory bus.

The 384MB version has a 575MHz core, 1700MHz memory and 1438MHz shaders. The 768MB version has a 650MHz core, 1900MHz memory and 1625MHz shaders. For comparison: the GeForce 8800 GT has a 600MHz core, 1800MHz memory and 1500MHz shaders but has the advantage of a 256-bit memory bus.



More details and lots of pictures over here. The GeForce 8800 GS 384MB will retail for about $164 and the GeForce 8800 GS 768MB for roughly $204.

Geforce 8800 GTS 512MB Launches On Dec 11,2007

Nvidia will launch its Geforce 8800 GTS 512MB card by midday Central European time on December 11. Nvidia simply likes to launch stuff on Tuesday, as it gives the PR bosses some time to recover from the weekend.

The new card is based on a G92 chip with eight clusters enabled and 128 Shader units. The reference card works at 650MHz core, 1650MHz Shader clock and 1940MHz DDR3 memory clock.

The card comes with a dual slot cooler and it is much quieter than the single slot G92 based cards. It will end up a bit faster than G92-based 8800 GT, but this will heavily depend on the resolution.

We've seen some listed for around €330, which sounds quite attractive, but it will also be interesting to see how this card is doing versus G92 based 8800 GT at 700MHz clock.

Nvidia's G96 Is The Next

Nvidia's biggest problem now is that they don't have a card that can run against the Radeon 3850. This Radeon is significantly faster than any 8600 GTS, as even overclocked cards can't compete and it cost about €150 for the 256MB version.

Nvidia lost this highly profitable market segment to ATI and it won't have a new chip to challenge ATI until March 2008. This is the time when G96 should be born. The G92 based 8800 GT is simply in another league and with prices between €220 and €250 it fights and wins over the HD 3870.

We don’t know many details as yet, just that the chip is coming and we hope that it is finally the time to move away from a 128-bit memory interface and go for the faster but more expensive 256-bit memory interface. The time will tell.

XFX To Launch 8800GT 256MB

According to Fudzilla, XFX plans to introduce a 256MB variant of 8800GT and it will be available in two editions one in standard and the other XXX edition.According to them this card should cost €149 excluding VAT. With taxes added on it should cost less than €199.


Its not confirmed when they will be made available but its sure that the sub €200 price tag would be a good deal.

XFX has decided to jump the gun with this announcement, as ATI should be introducing its 3870 and 3850 cards today.

Leaked Radeon HD 3800 Series Slides And Performance Benchmarks

MadBoxPC got their hands on some slides from AMD about the upcoming Radeon HD 3850 and 3870 graphics cards.



Some Radeon HD 3850 and 3870 benchmark results were unveiled today at VR Zone. These graphs allegedly come from AMD but the results don't really look that good unless these cards will retail for a lot less money than the GeForce 8800 GT.Check out some of the results below:

NVIDIA Working On Dual-GPU Card For Q1 2008

NVIDIA's next high-end graphics card will be launched in the first quarter of 2008.
The new card is codenamed D8E and will look a lot like the old GeForce 7950 GX2, the product will feature two GPUs on two PCBs. The details aren't know but it's expected that this card will use modified GeForce 8800 GT GPUs.

By mid-2008 NVIDIA will have a new single-chip part, the G100 (D9E).

NVIDIA Launches Much Cooler GeForce 8800 GT

NVIDIA today launches its newest midrange graphics card part, the GeForce 8800 GT, previously known by its codename G92. NVIDIA guidance states that its newest graphics card will be sold at a retail price in the $199 and $249 price range.

Top-to-bottom, the GeForce 8800 GT fits snugly between NVIDIA's GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB, which NVIDIA sets at a retail price of $349, and NVIDIA's GeForce 8600 GTS, which is sold for $149.

The GeForce 8800 GT sports a 100 MHz speed bump over the 8800 GTS, and comes factory clocked at 600 MHz. The 600 MHz clock speed of the 8800 GT is actually 15 MHz higher than the 8800 GTX's default GPU clock, which is set at 575 MHz. The 8800 GT's clock speed also comes within striking distance of the GeForce 8800 Ultra's 612 MHz GPU clock speed.

The NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT features 112 stream processors, 6 less than the 128 stream processors found on the ultra high-end 8800 GTX and 16 more than the 96 stream processors found on NVIDIA's 8800 GTS.
