Samsung has unveiled new Serial ATA II solid state disks with a capacity of 64GB.
The drives are available in 1.8" and 2.5" formats and feature 120MB/s sequential read speeds and 100MB/s sequential write speeds.
“The 64GB SATA II SSD is based on Samsung’s cutting-edge NAND technology with dramatically improved performance specs that are taking system performance to a whole new level of efficiency,” said Jim Elliott, director, NAND flash marketing, Samsung Semiconductor, Inc.
The drive weighs only 40g (15g for the 1.8" version) and consumes only 0.7W.

Samsung's New and Sexy ML1630 and SCX-4500 Printer

Samsung's sexy printers, launched earlier this month at IFA, are to be sold exclusively in Apple stores. The ML1630 and SCX-4500, (above) costing $199 and $299 respectively, will be available at both online and physical stores until January 2008, when they will be available from other retailers.
Samsung has made its new printers look like works of art. Both models are a deliciously glossy piano black and, while the 11-cm thick ML1630 (above) is a monochrome laser printer, the SCX-4500 is multifunctional. Both of them rock blue LED displays and buttonless sensors, and the custom-designed semi-auto docking slide-out cassette means that paper jams are easily dealt with.
