Creative finally released a PCI-Express based X-Fi Xtreme sound card.
The new PCI-Express X-Fi comes with a nice blue PCB, which lat east looks better then the plain green one. The new card features the X-Fi Xtreme Fidelity audio technologies, which should enhance audio playback and deliver virtual surround sound effects.
Besides the regular mic in/line in, front, side, center rear speaker outputs, the new PCIe based card also features an optical digital output and input. It should be available sometime in November with the suggested price of US$69.99.
